Consumer Rights & Refunds

Last updated: June 18, 2026

The straight version, no legalese wall. What you're entitled to, how refunds and cancellation work, and how to reach a human if something goes wrong.

Refunds & cancellation

ApplyArc has a genuinely useful free plan so you can test the AI tools before paying a penny. Pro is £19/month through Stripe. You can cancel your subscription anytime in one click from Settings or the Stripe billing portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period and you keep Pro until then, after which you move to the free plan automatically. Your data is never deleted on downgrade. Pro fees are non-refundable, and we don't refund or credit partial periods. Changing your mind, landing a job, forgetting to cancel before a renewal, or not getting round to using Pro aren't grounds for a refund, and your subscription renews automatically until you cancel. When you upgrade you ask us to start your Pro access immediately, so the standard 14-day money-back period (the cooling-off right under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013) no longer applies once that access begins. We play fair on changes too. If we ever change the price, we will tell you at least 30 days ahead, the new price only starts at your next renewal, and you can cancel before it kicks in, with a refund of any prepaid time you have not used at the new rate. And if we ever retire a Pro feature you are paying for without replacing it with something similar, we refund the unused part of your term. The full clauses live in our Terms.

Your statutory rights (these can't be signed away)

Nothing in our Terms removes the rights UK law gives you. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, the digital service we sell must match how we describe it and be provided with reasonable care and skill. If a Pro feature genuinely doesn't conform to its description, you're entitled to a remedy, normally us putting it right (re-performance), and where that's not possible a price reduction or refund. A blanket "non-refundable" line never overrides those rights. What Pro is: AI tools that take your skills and experience and turn them into stronger cover letters, resume feedback, interview prep and follow-ups. The output is a powerful starting point that you review and edit, not a finished document we guarantee will land you a job.

How to raise a complaint

Email support@applyarc.com with your account email and what went wrong. We read every message and aim to reply within 2 working days. Most issues are sorted same-day, we'd always rather fix it than have you out of pocket. If you're not happy with our final response, ask us for a deadlock letter so you can escalate.

If we can't resolve it together (ADR / ODR)

If we reach deadlock you can seek independent help. UK consumers can get free advice from Citizens Advice (0808 223 1133). EU consumers can get free help with cross-border disputes from their national European Consumer Centre (the ECC-Net). You can also raise a card dispute with your bank, though contacting us first is almost always faster and we'll work with you in good faith.
