Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help the site remember your preferences and improve your experience. We also use localStorage, a similar technology that stores data in your browser.
These cookies are required for the service to function and cannot be disabled:
| Name | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| MSAL tokens | Authentication (Microsoft login) | Session / 24 hours |
| cookieConsent | Remember your cookie preferences | 1 year |
Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity, and Azure Application Insights stay unloaded until you accept analytics. We use them to measure visits and feature use, understand where people get stuck, and improve ApplyArc. We do not use these tools to serve ads.
Google Analytics measures page views, sessions, and product events. It uses first-party cookies and pseudonymous browser identifiers. For signed-in users, ApplyArc may send an internal account ID and plan attributes so we can understand whether features work across sessions. Advertising storage, Google signals, and ad personalisation are disabled.
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| _ga | Distinguishes browsers with a pseudonymous client identifier | Up to 2 years |
| _ga_<container-id> | Maintains session state for this Analytics property | Up to 2 years |
After consent, Application Insights measures page views, feature interactions, clicks, API performance, and errors. It uses pseudonymous request and session identifiers and may receive an internal account ID for signed-in users. Its SDK cookie storage is disabled. ApplyArc uses first-party aa_* localStorage and sessionStorage markers after consent for attribution, route journeys, and analytics event deduplication. applyarc_entry_url and applyarc_referrer record the session landing page and referrer. ca:* sessionStorage markers detect rapid navigation, tool use, click patterns, and developer-tool signals. The funnel_events, arrived_from, and blog_attribution sessionStorage markers record product events and referral journeys. applyarc_last_active_day records the last day an authenticated user returned. These markers are not created before analytics consent. Relevant signals may be sent to Application Insights. Withdrawing analytics clears these ApplyArc-controlled analytics markers.
Clarity provides interaction metrics, heatmaps, and session replay. After consent, it can use a pseudonymous browser ID. For signed-in users, ApplyArc may link an internal account ID and account name or email to a replay for support, security, and product analysis. The applyarc_clarity_session_id sessionStorage marker links that identity after consent. We send Clarity analytics storage as granted and advertising storage as denied.

| _clck | Clarity user ID for session tracking | 1 year |
| _clsk | Clarity session ID for grouping pageviews | 1 day |
| CLID | Identifies when Clarity first saw a browser across sites | 1 year |
| ANONCHK | Checks MUID transfer to ANID; Clarity states this is always 0 | 10 minutes |
| MR | Used to collect info for analytics | 1 week |
| MUID | Microsoft browser ID for analytics and operational purposes | 1 year |
| SM | Microsoft session identifier | Session |
Browser localStorage needed for sign-in, saved work, caching, and preferences is always on because it supports features you request. It is separate from the optional analytics choice. These items stay on your device:
You can accept, reject, or change optional analytics at any time. Rejecting analytics does not affect sign-in, saved jobs, AI tools, or payments.
